Resources

On this page I will share some of the resources that will help you grow as an agile practitioner, including professional organizations and those sources of training that I have found useful in my journey.

Agile Organizations

Scrum Alliance – I believe that the Scrum Alliance is the predominant organization for the dissemination of Scrum and specifically certifications.

Agile Alliance – This organization provides a broader view of agile that includes framework resources to explore the different Agile frameworks including Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban, SAFe, DAD, LeSS, and several others. Memberships are available as is conferences and events.

The Agile Manifesto – While not an extensive reference to agile methods or any particular methodology. The Agile Manifesto was a key impetus to the growth of agile when it was written in February 2001 and still is today. In addition to the manifesto there are the 12 Principles of Agile Software which provides additional details behind the manifesto.

Scrum.org – This organization is focused on Scrum and was formed by Ken Schwaber one of the co-authors of Scrum. Scrum.org has its own certifications and training. I am not as familiar with this organization as I am the Scrum Alliance, so I will leave it at that.

Training

Superheroes Academy – I have taken two classes from Superheroes Academy and the were both excellent. They have training for it appears to be every certification from the Scum Alliance and more. The format is online, but extremely interactive using Zoom and video. Each training session was 90 minutes long with homework each week. Superheroes also uses Slack to communicate between the instructor and students. Highly Recommended!

Mountain Goat Software – This organization is run by Mike Cohn who in my opinion is one of the best agile practitioners that I know of. He frequently posts to his blog and offers training through his company Mountain Goat Software. Mike does a lot of Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Product Owner classes all over the United States. Highly Recommended!

PureVPN

My favorite VPN service is called PureVPN. VPN services protect your data from hackers and others providing a secure connection. Here is a quote from the PureVPN site:

“If you want to use the Internet with a layer of anonymity, an anonymous VPN is just the tool you need in your arsenal. It combines the power of military-grade encryption and IP address masking, enabling you to conduct your online activities without worrying about them being linked back to you.”
